A little more about me...

Born into a family of fishermen, it was at the age of 1 that I first set foot on a boat. My memories are hazy, but my mother always tells me that I was so amazed, she knew right away that I'd be passionate about the sea and boats. My earliest memories go back to a trip out to sea with my maternal grandfather, when I was 6. We went out with my grand-brother and uncle for a day on a sailboat we'd rented for the occasion. It was one of my greatest experiences. I was free, I was king of the world. I quickly became interested in navigation, sailboat equipment and navigational aids... My grandfather taught me everything.

I've been planning my round-the-world trip for over 8 months, and now the day of departure has arrived! It's been a long road to the real start of my experience. Taking a leave of absence (quite a leave of absence!), having a health check-up, finding the most suitable boat insurance... On the other hand, I enjoyed preparing my boat (nautical charts and documents, installing all the necessary safety equipment on board, preparing food and fuel supplies...). I'm off for a year across five continents. My family and friends will see me move away from the Basque coast, of course, and head first for the American coast.
